Jay set up Violet Productions in 2008 to meet the demands of companies wanting innovative and brilliantly shot online videos at realistic prices. The company very quickly established itself as one of London’s best video production companies, delivering professional, compelling and memorable films for clients in all sorts of businesses and for all sorts of budgets. Today Violet Productions works for a number of agencies, charities and individual companies delivering a huge variety of content from snack size 15 second video campaigns for mobiles to full 30 minute documentaries for screening at film festivals and everything in between.

Jay started her career at the Daily Mail and then moved into television where she worked as producer and presenter for over 20 years and has made a variety of shows for BBC1, ITV1, Sky and Channel 4 including Comic Relief, Esther, Vanessa, The Holiday show, The Truth About Sex Appeal and Hotter Sex! As a presenter she co-presented three series of BBC2’s hit make over show Would Like to Meet and five series of Spendaholics for BBC3. She has also written two books to accompany the tv shows.


Paul Braund is one of our favourite regulars and a people finder extraordinaire!! He started his TV career in BBC Entertainment and went on to work across a variety of formats for major broadcasters. His casting credits include several major Channel 4 series and a number of gay-orientated shows: A reality series about gay London, a documentary about rent boys and most recently a film focusing on gay parents. He is now an established AP working across both Development and Production for a variety of Production Companies including Violet Productions.


Joanna is a regular face with our clients and is a well established producer/director with over 15 years of experience in television production. She has worked in a wide variety of genres (documentary/factual/ factual entertainment/ entertainment/comedy) with credits for all terrestrial channels
(BBC / ITV/Ch4/Ch5) and also for UKTV.


Marc started working as a camera assistant for some of the best cameramen at the BBC over 13 years ago. Learning his trade on film and digital, for the last 7 years Marc has worked as a freelance DOP on everything from Songs of Praise, Panorama, short films to corporate work for clients including Coca Cola and Samsung, winning awards on the way. From documentary to drama, from the UK to the Middle East, Marc adds creativity to the simplest of shots.

Michael Aspin

Michael has been busy working on a variety of high profile jobs for both TV and the corporate world. London 2012 and Wimbledon secured his place as a popular operator for sporting events and he then worked for National Geographic and Disney followed. He regularly works for the BBC, Ralph Lauren, Microsoft, Canon and Kaspersky when he is not busy shooting for Violet Productions.

Jack Taylor

Jack has worked in a variety of roles as a camera operator and assistant editor but his passion lies in creating interesting images. He has worked on Glastonbury for the BBC and Later with Jools Holland and is a regular on the BBC Proms. He has also worked on projects for Children in Need, Nike, European Diversity Awards, Grayshott Hall and Courtaulds.

Courtney Andrews

Courtney is our brilliant hard working, never complaining camera assistant who never stops working! When not shooting with us he has racked up credits with Renault, Thomas Cook, Greenpeace and Canon but he still says he loves us best!


Once a technical evangelist and trainer in the world of computer networks (a world he still occasionally teleports to), Noel started his career as an actor for more than 15 years, with credits including the films A Knight’s Tale, The Illusionist & Last Holiday. He then decided to work behind the camera, and the last 10 years have seen him as a camera assistant and operator and expert in operating camera, sound, auto cue, jibs, & dollies.


Eric worked at the BBC Film Unit from 1982 to 1995 and then went freelance. He is always in demand on all sorts of broadcast output, including, Great Journeys, Panorama and Songs of Praise. He has also worked on a huge number of live events, conferences and awards ceremonies. Eric also has extensive knowledge of lighting and camera assisting.


Violet Productions uses Ace Post Production for all editing services for clients. Based in west London, Ace provides a complete solution for all client editing needs and clients have access to preferential rates. Ace has the latest avid software, machines and technology along with highly skilled and creative staff that provide a friendly relaxed atmosphere and we welcome clients who want to come and get involved with their edits.

All of our client rushes are stored securely at Ace for no extra charge. Ace provides our clients with a one-stop post production shop that can deal with offline and online editing, graphics and sound. Along with work for Violet Productions, Ace’s client base includes the BBC and many other broadcast indies.


Richard is based at Ace Post Production and brings together the brilliant footage the production crew shoot with the latest in Avid editing software and HD edit suites to create innovative and creative films for a variety of clients. Working alongside the production management of Violet Productions, Richard also works extensively on BBC output including the Later… with Jools Holland series and Glastonbury and music events. His experience and input is an integral part of forming the narrative for numerous projects and establishing a visual style synonymous with the ethos of Violet Productions.


Adam is a graphic designer with over 15 years experience working in TV and broadcast. His credits include numerous graphics and titles for BBC, C4, Sky Arts, ITV as well as other lifestyle channels. He is an expert in match-move and 3d animation and welcomes clients with imagination, as he likes a challenge!


Sonia runs Ace Post Production and keeps everything on a tight schedule. She has over 25 years experience as a post production manager and makes sure all the logistics run smoothly.

Nothing is too much trouble for Sonia and she rustles up a mean pasta bake to make long edits a joy!
